The Web (1947) Empty The Web (1947)

I had viewed the 1947 noir THE WEB previously, but neglected to note that, so wound up viewing it again.

It’s a solid noir (Keaney 2.5; IMDb: 7.1) starring Vincent Price, Edmund O’Brien, Ella Raines, William Bendix and John Abbott.  All do a fine job.

O’Brien is a small time attorney who confronts multi-millionaire business man Price with a $68.27 bill for one of his clients.  This impresses Price and he hires O’Brien to act as a bodyguard due to the recent release of a former business associate who may not have the warmest feelings towards him.

O’Brien gets completely tangled up in this web and spends the rest of picture extracting himself and his love interest Raines.

Recommended.
