Take My Life Empty Take My Life

Very much enjoyed the 1947 Brit noir, TAKE MY LIFE. It stars Greta Gynt, Hugh Williams, Marius Goring and Francis L. Sullivan.

When a Covent Garden violinist is found murdered, her ex-lover, show business manager Nicholas Talbot (Hugh Williams) finds himself under suspicion. The only person who believes that Talbot is innocent is his wife, opera diva Phillipa Shelley (Greta Gynt). Unable to convince the authorities, Phillipa plays detective herself, utilizing a snatch of a newly written song as her main clue to the true killer's identity.

Gynt is excellent in her role and I found the film well-paced with adequate tension (which I find often lacking a bit with Brit noirs).

Keaney thought it above average too with a 3.0 rating while IMDb viewers gave it a 6.9 (which I think should be a bit higher).

Would definitely view this one if you get the chance.
