The Whistler's THE THIRTEENTH HOUR
I posted this on the old Board but since we have some new or returning members I thought I'd post it again.
Sony is releasing the 1947 THE THIRTEENTH HOUR (the last of the Richard Dix Whistler films) on July 14th.
I've never seen a copy better than "Alpha grade" and so am most excited about upgrading my Whistler series. When I actually get to view it, I'll let you know how good a copy the commercial version is.

Re: The Whistler's THE THIRTEENTH HOUR
Sony is releasing it rather than Warner Archive? (Hmm...I wonder why?)

Yes, Sony Choice Collection. Done on a on-demand basis.

Ah, that makes sense. On-demand is the way of the future for older series films, methinks...

If THE THIRTEENTH HOUR is anywhere near as pristine a dvd as MYSTERIOUS INTRUDER, which I viewed last night (Criterion-like), I don't care how they burn them!
