TCOT Frightened Lady

The 1940 Brit noir THE CASE OF THE FRIGHTENED LADY (US: THE FRIGHTENED LADY) stars Marius Goring, Helen Haye, Penelope Dudley-Ward, Patrick Barr, John Warwick and Felix Aylmer.
The film is based on an Edger Wallace stage play. The action takes place in one of those huge mansions with endless rooms and staircases with uber-rich (and uber-bored) wealthy people with far too much time on their hands. The matriarch Helen Haye wants her son Marius Goring to marry his cousin (her secretary) Penelope Dudley-Ward to continue the blood line. Ah, what a blood line! What's behind the door that hasn't been opened in the 15 years since Haye's husbands demise? Why do dead bodies keep popping up?
BTW, although IMDb has a photo of Helen Hayes as a cast member, it's actually another actress: Helen Haye (https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0370848/ for the curious among you).
Keaney gives it 2.0 and it's 6.5 on IMDb--numbers I agree with.
