The Other Love Empty The Other Love

The 1947 drama/romance THE OTHER LOVE was a difficult film to follow what was really going on.  Perhaps that's a good thing?!

It stars Barbara Stanwyck, David Niven, Richard Conte, Gilbert Roland and Joan Lorring.

Barbara Stanwyck is a free-spirited concert pianist with serious health issues. She checks into a posh Alpine sanitarium and there falls in love with her suave and empathic doctor (David Niven). The poor physician has his hands full trying to keep the energetic Stanwyck quiet so her body can rest. She tries, but when the fellow patient she befriended dies, she becomes afraid of her own death and flees to have a crazy affair with a devil-may-care race car driver/gambler Paul Clermont (Richard Conte). When she suddenly falls ill again she has to reconsider her path forward.

It's got a 5.9 on IMDb and I can't say I'd recommend it.
