Jennifer (1953)
Anyone looking for a creepy little noir need look no further than the 1953 JENNIFER starring Ida Lupino, Howard Duff and Robert Nichols.
Lupino is hired to be the caretaker of an eerie old mansion with rooms and passageways that never seem to end. There is a great deal of mystery about what actually happened to its owner, Jennifer. Lupino, in the mansion by herself, finds her imagination getting the best of her. The musical background assists the viewer to feel the same way. Duff tries to assure her that all is well, but is he actually part of the "problem"?
Keaney gives it a 1.5 and it's at 6.0 on IMDb. I can't say I actually enjoyed this one but it did an admirable job creating the creepy atmosphere as obviously intended.
