The 1954 noir, HIGHWAY DRAGNET stars Richard Conte, Joan Bennett, Wanda Hendrix and Reed Hadley.
It definitely has that early 50s feel to it.
Trivia Department: First film to carry Roger Corman's name in the credits. And he was one of six screenwriters contributing to the script.
Ex-Marine Conte hitches a ride from glamour-magazine photographer Joan Bennett, who is travelling cross-country with her principal model, Wanda Hendrix. He's been charged with a murder and is getting out of town ASAP.
Keaney gives it a 1.5 and the IMDb rating is 6.3. It's an enjoyable, but nothing special, little noir.
I viewed a copy recorded off Mystery Channel, but I think it's available commercially. Whether it's been restored however, is another matter. But there's also a copy on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PS7anDYajIE
