Appointment with Crime
Finally got around to viewing the 1946 Brit noir APPOINTMENT WITH CRIME starring William Hartnell, Raymond Lovell, Robert Beatty, Herbert Lom, Joyce Howard and Alan Wheatley.
Future Dr. Who star William Hartnell plays a hate-consumed ex-convict who, after a long time in the slammer, is determined to get even with the gang that double-crossed him and left him at the scene of the crime. Hartnell reasons that the best way to wreak vengeance is to re-steal the money that the gang had pilfered long ago and will stop at nothing to achieve his goal.
Hartnell does a wonderful job portraying a person physically stiff with hate. You can feel it coming off of him. He's like a walking, talking stiff rod.
Keaney gives it a 2.5, I'd rate it just a bit lower, but I really enjoyed Hartnell's performance.
