Key Witness
I was looking for a short noir the other night and chose the 1947 KEY WITNESS starring John Beal.
It is an OK (Keaney: 1.5), but completely forgettable, noir.
John Beal plays inventor Milton Higby, who, after winning the Daily Double, celebrates and winds up in an apartment with a mysteriously murdered woman. Fortunately, it seems as though someone witnessed the crime; less fortunately, that someone has apparently disappeared from the face of the earth. Higby also tries to disappear by disguising himself as a bum, which only adds to his already mounting problems.
If you only have 67 minutes, this one is OK, but don't go out of your way to hunt this one down.
