The 1947 noir A DOUBLE LIFE is an excellent film with an outstanding performance by Ronald Colman (cast against type), which garnered him a well-deserved Academy Award.
Also in the cast are Signe Hasso, Edmond O'Brien, Harlan Briggs, Shelley Winters and Ray Collins.
Colman is a very popular stage actor that has problems off stage due to his uncontrollable temper. Hasso has had enough of this but Colman once again convinces her to give it another go and co-star with him in Othello. The play is an outstanding success running over 300 performances. Unfortunately his role as a jealous man moved to murder takes a psychological toll on Colman. I'll stop here as I don't want to give away too much.
It's at 7.0 on IMDb and Keaney gave it a high 4.0.
