The 1948 comedy/fantasy THE COCKEYED MIRACLE is simply a charming and very enjoyable film.  It stars Frank Morgan, Keenan Wynn, Cecil Kellaway, Audrey Totter, Richard Quine, Gladys Cooper, Leon Ames and Morris Ankrum.

Frank Morgan plays a turn-of-the-century shipbuilder who dies of a sudden heart attack. Morgan is summoned to Heaven by the ghost of the father (Keenan Wynn), who'd been killed in a barroom brawl at an early age and thus is now younger than his own son. Morgan is adament about sticking around on earth for a while to straighten out some unfinished business. He is especially intent on setting straight his best friend (Cecil Kellaway), who, after investing Morgan's savings, plans to abscond with the funds and leave Morgan's widow penniless after Morgan's death. The struggle to set things straight is very entertaining.
