B.F.'s Daughter
Enjoyed the well done 1948 drama B.F.'s DAUGHTER starring Barbara Stanwyck, Van Heflin, Charles Coburn, Keenan Wynn, Richard Hart and Margaret Lindsay.
Barbara Stanwyck plays Polly Fulton, the impulsive daughter of wealthy industrialist B. F. (Charles Coburn). Polly was going to marry solid, conservative Richard Hart but suddenly decides to jump ship to marry socialist professor Van Heflin. I found the Van Heflin character a bit annoying as neither B.F. or Polly were obnoxious blue bloods with Polly being very supportive of Van Heflin's career. Will Van Heflin come around to see what he has in Polly or ...?
The film is based on a novel by J.P. Marquand and was considered an unsubtle jab at the policies of FDR.
