Really enjoyed the 1948 noir THE DARK PAST starring Lee J. Cobb, William Holden, Nina Foch, Steven Geray and Adele Jergens.
Yes, it's yet another home invasion plot but this one is better and different than most. Cobb and Holden are excellent in this one.
Keaney gives it a 3.0 and I agree with that. It's 6.4 on IMDb and I would grade it higher than that.
Definitely recommended.
