If you are looking for a very atmospheric, a bit stark black & white featuring an all-night wandering about Manhattan set to cool jazz, the 1959 DEUX HOMMES DAN MANHATTAN (US:  Two Men in Manhattan) is a film for you.

It's well done, but I found it to drag a bit, especially when you consider you're reading subtitles (unless, of course, you understand French).

I was actually looking for a film with Jean Gabin and failed to read who was starring in it.

IMDb gives it a 6.9, so I'm not really panning the film.  It just wasn't what I was looking for.  And after the initial atmospheric enjoyment, it was too much of the same for me.
