Finger Man
FINGER MAN is a 1955 noir starring Frank Lovejoy, Forrest Tucker, Peggie Castle and the always entertaining (in one way or another) Timothy Carey. In fact, it's been reported that Carey was nearly punched out by Frank Lovejoy when the latter caught on he was being upstaged.
Frank Lovejoy plays career criminal named Casey Martin. In exchange for immunity from prosecution, Martin agrees to help the Feds net a larger fish--namely, big-time mobster Dutch Becker (Forrest Tucker). Just trying-to-get-a-break girl Gladys Baker (Peggie Castle), after having been with Becker while Martin was doing time, decides to pursue Martin. And so the tug-of-war begins.
Keaney only gave it a 1.5, but I'd grade it higher. IMDb lists it at 6.6, which I think is more in line with the entertainment value.
