The Roaring Twenties Empty The Roaring Twenties

Really enjoyed the 1939 THE ROARING TWENTIES starring Jimmy Cagney, Humphrey Bogart, Priscilla Lane, Jeffrey Lynn, Gladys George, Frank McHugh and Paul Kelly.

IMDb lists it as noir, but I don't agree with that--nor does Keaney, who was very inclusive in his noir book. It's a well done Crime Drama about 3 servicemen that come back from WWI, two of which find it difficult to pick up where they left off. As Prohibition is instituted, they find "employment opportunities" in providing liquid refreshment.

Priscilla Lane does a fine job being the pretty Jane Sherman, talented wholesome young lady that falls for Jeffrey Lynn, the third serviceman, who is an attorney that gets tied up with Eddie Bartlett (Cagney), who is head over heels in love with Sherman.

With an IMDb rating of 7.9, it seems others have enjoyed the film too.
